It was a night, I was in Kansas City, 28 degrees out, and I'm standing on Troost Avenue, in fishnets, and a fake fur I stole from my roommate. I had made 1,800 dollars and I still felt worthless. That's the night Silk pulled up, not to pick me up, but to pull my damn coat. He told me, "You out here making money, but what are you investing in? It's fine to get your hustle on. I'm cool with that. Unless you have something to show for it, why do it?" He said."Trauma don't turn into assets, unless you flip it. I felt that shit. I knew he was right, but I didn't want to hear it. I figured he was trying to Knock. I had been drinking Everclear and popping pills like I did every single day, just to get the courage to go out another night to put money in someone else's pockets. If it wasn't for Silk showing me I was worth more than a Pimps stack, I'd still be a human trampoline, laying on motel beds pretending I wasn't dying inside. And now, I own two salons, stock in four companies, I even own stock in the Everclear I used to drink, and a condo in Atlanta with marble floors. Have you ever seen the movie Mandy, with Nick Cage? Because of Silk, I became one of its producers, all legal, all mine. That's what him pulling my coat did for me. This is just a snippet of what I talk about. There's a lot more I get into.
